About the job
This is a unique opportunity to build, shape and further develop a future team of four team members, in a newly established communication department. As Director of Communication, you lead our global communication agenda across internal and external audiences. You design and drive an integrated communication strategy that builds trust with customers, partners and employees, while turning transformation into a clear and compelling story inside and outside the company. You’re a member of the leadership team and report to the Vice President Brand, Marketing and Communication.
Job responsibilities
- Own the global communication strategy supporting Seco´s purpose to make manufacturing fast, easy, and sustainable.
- Lead a senior communications team of four future team members, complemented by agency partners, through clarity, coaching and project-based ways of working.
- Drive thought leadership on key topics for Seco, including sustainability and the future of manufacturing.
- Protect and strengthen Seco’s public image through reputation management, media relations and crisis and issues communication.
- Lead change and transformation communication that engages employees around strategy, culture and organizational development.
- Provide executive communication counsel and content for the President of Seco and other senior leaders.
- Collaborate cross-functional with Sales, Offer & Innovation, Strategy, Sustainability, HR and Sandvik Group / Machining communications to deliver one Seco narrative.
- Manage the communication budget and agency ecosystem with a clear focus on business value and cost‑effectiveness.
Location and flexibility
This position is flexible within Europe or the Americas region.
Your profile
You’re an experienced communications leader with a strong background in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, preferably from a global or multinational environment. With a degree in communications or a related field, you know how to connect business objectives to clear messaging, stakeholder engagement and measurable communication impact.
Your background includes
- Proven managerial experience, with the ability to guide, coach, and develop the team.
- Strong experience from internal communication, leadership messaging, and employee engagement.
- The ability to manage external communication and media relations to maintain a positive public image, including planning and execute crisis communication.
- Experience working in a project-based, cross-functional environment.
- Confidence managing budgets, projects and agency partners efficiently, with strong prioritization and time management skills.
- The ability to build relationships with media, industry leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
You bring a growth mindset, personal accountability, and a genuine belief in winning together, which is essential as you will help influence the direction of the newly established Brand, Marketing and Communication function alongside with your peers in the Management Team. Working across cultures, functions and leadership teams comes naturally to you, and you’re comfortable turning insight, feedback and data into communication that moves the business forward.
