Don't Just Find Bugs. Own the Shield.
At etalytics, we develop AI-powered energy management solutions that help industrial companies reduce energy consumption, costs, and CO₂ emissions. Our software platform etaONE® connects complex energy systems, analyzes data in real time, and unlocks efficiency potential through intelligent optimization.
Join the revolution in AI-driven energy intelligence! As our QA Engineer, you won't just test software: you own the quality of a sophisticated IoT/AI platform that runs in real industrial environments, where a wrong number doesn't just look bad, it costs energy and money. You will take our automation framework from a growing foundation to a reliable safety net, decide how and what we test, and act as the quality voice in a fast-moving engineering team.
Tasks
- Own Automation: Build, scale, and maintain our end-to-end automation framework using Playwright, TypeScript, and Jest, and keep it fast, stable, and trustworthy.
- Shape QA Strategy: Define test scope, coverage, and quality standards across the product, from test case design to release criteria, and make quality measurable rather than a gut feeling.
- Integrate into CI/CD: Embed automated tests into our pipelines so that regressions are caught before they reach production, and keep flakiness under control.
- Deep-Dive Testing: Cover the full lifecycle with functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure our AI energy insights are always spot-on.
- Creative Engineering: Keep reinventing how we test. You evaluate new tools, bring AI into our QA workflows (test generation, test data, failure triage, review support), and build small solutions of your own wherever a manual step is still costing us time.
- Collaborate as a Peer: Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers, challenge requirements early, and support our QA working student with guidance and reviews. We're not looking for someone who simply agrees. We value people who contribute their own ideas to improve the product.
Requirements
- The Experience: You bring 2+ years of professional experience in QA, test automation, or software development with a strong testing focus, ideally in a complex web or data-intensive product.
- The Skills: You are confident with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern test automation tooling (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar), and you know your way around Git, CI/CD pipelines, and APIs. Python is a significant plus.
- The Mindset: You are a self-driven problem solver. You don't wait for a ticket to be assigned; you see a gap and fill it. You enjoy the 'detective work' of finding out why something broke, and you hate doing anything twice that a script could do for you.
- The Curiosity: You actively try out new tools and AI-supported ways of working and can judge where they genuinely help and where they just add noise.
- The Ownership: You can structure your own work, prioritize what matters for the release, and communicate risks clearly instead of just reporting defects.
- Languages: You are fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.
- Experience with performance testing, IoT/time-series data, or cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is a bonus, not a must.
Benefits:
Purpose-driven work: Support industrial companies in becoming more efficient and sustainable
Flexibility: Hybrid working with home office options and flexible working hours
Team spirit: A supportive, collaborative environment with plenty of room for exchange and cooperation
Community: Regular team events and shared activities
Work-life balance: 30 days of vacation plus a flexible, agile work culture
Well-being: Tax-free benefits card, subsidized local gym membership and the option of a job bike
