Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role
As a System Application Engineer, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge power electronics solutions, working with the latest semiconductor technologies including GaN, SiC, and Si devices.
- Design and prototype state-of-the-art system solutions for applications such as AI Power Supply Units, Datacenter, and Server SMPS, leveraging the latest wide bandgap power semiconductor technologies from Infineon
- Develop end-to-end hardware and software solutions — from concept and simulation through PCB design, prototype builds, and real-world debugging
- Own the full development lifecycle, supporting projects from initial concept to final system release, ensuring solutions exceed industry standards
- Collaborate with international teams of hardware and software specialists, contributing your technical expertise to cross-functional projects and expert discussions at all levels
- Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating the newest Infineon power technologies to enhance existing systems or enable next-generation solutions
- Create and communicate technical insights through IP filings, research papers, and comprehensive documentation for both internal stakeholders and external partners
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Technical university degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or similar
- 5+ years of professional experience in the design, development and test of power supplies and inverters
- Experience with simulation (PLECS – thermal, magnetics, electrical) of power electronic systems, PCB design (Altium), and C/C++ software design
- Hardware embedded programming skills with digital controllers (e.g. Infineon, TI, ST, Microchip)
- Experience in technical customer support and intercultural communication
- Self-driven, fast learner withexcellent English communication and presentation skills
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/aktuelles/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter-eei/). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
