The Position

We are seeking an Able Ship's Assistant to join our offshore fleet.

As an Able Ship's Assistan in ESVAGT, you will become part of a professional and supportive working environment with strong team spirit and high standards of workmanship. You will play an important role in daily deck operations and contribute actively to maintaining safety and operational readiness onboard.

The position offers a varied working day with a wide range of tasks, which may vary depending on whether you are assigned to an ERRV or an SOV vessel.

You will be part of a crew where both professional development and personal growth are highly prioritized.

Your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:

General deck maintenance, including painting and cleaning
Participation in safety drills such as firefighting, first aid, and rescue boat operations (FRB)
Assistance during offshore operations in accordance with client requirements
Maintenance and handling of deck equipment
Ensuring a safe working environment onboard

Qualifications

We expect that you:

Demonstrate a strong focus on safety
Are able to communicate clearly in English (Danish is an advantage)
Are responsible, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Additionally, you are expected to pass a drug test in accordance with our zero-tolerance policy and provide a recent criminal record (not older than three months).

Certificates:

Hold a valid certificate as Able Seaman
Hold valid STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1-1)
Hold valid Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certificate (A-VI/1-2)
Hold valid Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (A-VI/2-1)
Hold a valid Designated Security Duties certificate (STCW VI/6-4)
Hold a valid medical certificate and passport
Hold a valid hygiene certificate
STCW A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/2-1
Designated Security Duties (VI/6-4)
Valid medical certificate and seafarer’s discharge book

The following may also be relevant:

G5 Crane Certificate
Banksman & Slinger (LOLER)
ROC
Danish “Duelighedsbevis” (Certificate of Competency for in sailing merchant vessels)
Medical Care (C)
Walk-to-Work certificates (e.g., Uptime, Ampelmann, SMST)
Experience from standby, offshore wind, or supply vessels
