Company: Lotоs Clean
Location: Amsterdam and surrounding areas
Position: Full-time
Driving licence: Required
About Lotоs Clean
Lotоs Clean is a growing professional cleaning company committed to exceptional quality, reliability, and genuinely friendly service. We work closely with both our clients and our cleaning teams, and we are now looking for an experienced Operations & Quality Manager who can bring structure, accountability, and consistently high standards to every part of our operation.
This is not a desk-only management position. You will combine client communication and administrative work with regular visits to cleaning locations, quality inspections, staff supervision, and hands-on problem-solving.
Your role
As our Operations & Quality Manager, you will be the central point of communication between our clients, cleaners, and company management.
You will make sure that clients receive excellent service, cleaners clearly understand what is expected of them, and every location is maintained according to Lotus Clean standards. You will take ownership of operational problems and follow them through until they are fully resolved.
A major part of your role will be building a reliable quality-control system, including inspection procedures, checklists, cleaning standards, reports, and standard operating procedures.
Key responsibilities
Client management and customer service
- Communicate with clients professionally, warmly, and proactively.
- Schedule appointments, site visits, quotations, and cleaning services.
- Discuss client requirements and translate them into clear instructions for cleaning teams.
- Handle questions, feedback, changes, and complaints calmly and effectively.
- Negotiate practical service arrangements with clients while protecting the company’s interests.
- Regularly check client satisfaction instead of waiting for problems to be reported.
- Build strong, long-term relationships based on trust and consistent communication.
Team coordination
- Act as the main point of contact between clients and cleaners.
- Make sure cleaners receive complete and accurate instructions for every location.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, performance, and compliance with company standards.
- Give cleaners clear, respectful, and constructive feedback.
- Arrange replacements and solve unexpected staffing or scheduling problems.
- Support the onboarding and practical training of new cleaners.
- Recognise recurring performance problems and take appropriate corrective action.
Quality control
- Conduct frequent on-site quality inspections at clients’ premises.
- Check cleaning work carefully, including details that others may overlook.
- Document inspection results with checklists, notes, and photographs when appropriate.
- Follow up on every identified issue until it has been corrected.
- Identify recurring quality problems and address their root causes.
- Make sure cleaning materials, equipment, and methods are appropriate for each location.
- Be willing and able to demonstrate the correct cleaning method personally when necessary.
- Maintain consistently high standards across all client locations.
Systems, standards, and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain cleaning standards for different types of locations.
- Create practical SOPs, quality-control checklists, inspection forms, onboarding documents, and operational guidelines.
- Introduce these systems across the company and make sure they are followed in practice.
- Keep client information, schedules, instructions, inspection results, and staff records properly organised.
- Improve operational processes as the company grows.
- Use data and recurring feedback to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Help build an operation that is structured, scalable, and less dependent on individual people.
Administration and digital work
- Work confidently with email, online calendars, spreadsheets, documents, scheduling systems, and other business software.
- Prepare quotations, client instructions, reports, and internal documents.
- Keep schedules and operational information accurate and up to date.
- Respond to messages promptly and keep all relevant parties informed.
- Learn and introduce new digital tools when they can improve company operations.
Who we are looking for
You are a practical, energetic, and highly responsible operations professional who genuinely cares about cleanliness and customer experience.
You naturally notice small details. You do not walk past a problem or assume someone else will solve it. When something goes wrong, you remain calm, communicate clearly, find a solution, and follow up until the matter is completely resolved.
You are friendly and approachable, but you are also capable of setting clear expectations and holding people accountable. You enjoy being in regular contact with clients and employees and are comfortable switching between computer work, phone calls, planning, inspections, and urgent operational situations.
Essential requirements
- At least three years of relevant experience in professional cleaning, cleaning operations, facilities management, hospitality operations, housekeeping supervision, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience supervising cleaners or other operational staff.
- Strong knowledge of professional cleaning methods and quality standards.
- Excellent customer-service and relationship-management skills.
- Experience handling complaints and difficult conversations professionally.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- Ability to create clear procedures, checklists, reports, and operational documents.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong personal standard of cleanliness.
- A proactive and solution-oriented working style.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities.
- Resilience under pressure and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Valid driving licence and confidence driving regularly between client locations.
- Willingness to work on-site and remain mobile throughout the working week.
- Flexibility to respond to operational issues when reasonably required.
- Legal right to work in the Netherlands.
- Language requirements: English, Dutch (preferred, not mandatory).
Strong advantages
- Previous management experience within a cleaning company.
- Experience managing both office-cleaning and residential-cleaning teams.
- Experience designing or implementing quality-control systems.
- Experience writing SOPs and training employees to follow them.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, surface care, and workplace safety.
- Experience with scheduling, CRM, workforce-management, or quality-inspection software.
- Familiarity with the Amsterdam region and surrounding areas.
What success looks like
Within your first months, we expect you to:
- Understand every active client location and its specific requirements.
- Establish clear communication routines between clients and cleaning teams.
- Introduce a consistent inspection and quality-reporting system.
- Ensure that client instructions are documented and accessible.
- Reduce recurring complaints and prevent avoidable service failures.
- Create or improve essential SOPs, checklists, and training materials.
- Build professional relationships with cleaners while maintaining accountability.
- Give management a clear and accurate overview of service quality across all locations.
Long-term success means that clients trust Lotus Clean, cleaners know exactly what is expected, operational problems are resolved quickly, and our quality remains consistently high as the company grows.
What we offer
- A central and influential position in a growing company.
- The opportunity to develop and lead the company’s operational and quality systems.
- A varied role combining management, customer service, administration, and on-site work.
- A high level of responsibility and independence.
- Direct communication with company leadership.
- Opportunities for professional growth as Lotos Clean expands.
This position is probably not suitable for you if
- You are looking for a role that is mainly office-based.
- You prefer to wait for instructions instead of taking initiative.
- You dislike frequent communication with clients and employees.
- You find it difficult to give constructive feedback or hold people accountable.
- You tend to overlook small details.
- You consider a problem finished before confirming that it has actually been resolved.
- You are uncomfortable visiting cleaning locations or demonstrating cleaning tasks yourself.
- You are not confident using computers and digital business tools.
- You are unable to adapt when schedules or operational priorities change.
