Amentum is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting procurement operations by coordinating purchasing activities for facility, logistics, and operational requirements. This position ensures timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable government standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate purchasing activities in support of facility, logistics, and operational requirements.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and obtain competitive vendor quotations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract requirements, and purchasing procedures.
- Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and vendor performance to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company and government standards.
- Assist with inventory management, material forecasting, and supply reconciliation.
- Communicate with vendors, internal departments, and leadership to resolve purchasing discrepancies, delays, and delivery issues.
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Education or training in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative support.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.
- Strong organizational, communication, and vendor relationship management skills.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
