Senior Embedded Software Consultant– High‑Tech Innovation
As a consultant, you act as a subject matter expert at our client. You will be embedded in a high‑tech innovation environment, designing and implementing embedded software for next‑generation products, from requirements through testing and release.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize embedded software for real-time medical imaging, monitoring, and connected care devices
- Drive the full software development lifecycle: requirements definition, architecture, design, implementation, testing, and release
- Ensure software compliance with applicable quality norms and regulatory standards, actively contributing to design and code reviews
- Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests within selected frameworks to secure robust, maintainable solutions
- Estimate effort, contribute to sprint and release planning, and manage personal and team backlogs in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Produce clear, structured documentation for developed software, interfaces, and test assets, ensuring traceability and reuse
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (systems, hardware, QA, regulatory) to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions
- Monitor and report progress, risks, and technical issues in a structured manner, proposing and implementing corrective actions
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in embedded software development on resource-constrained microcontroller platforms
- Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented analysis and design, applying SOLID principles in embedded contexts
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and end-to-end participation in embedded software projects
- Experience with build and test tools such as CMake, and with developing connectivity solutions (BLE, Wi‑Fi, Cellular)
- Knowledge of medical device regulatory and quality standards, including ISO 13485 and IEC 62304
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, scripting (e.g. Python, Bash), and software quality tools
- Proven ability to create and maintain structured documentation, test specifications, and traceability across the lifecycle
- Experience working with structured development processes and lifecycle management tools in a regulated environment
