About the role
As our Automation Manager, Operational Technology, Moulding Platform Owner, you'll own and develop a global moulding platform that supports the production of new LEGO® elements. You'll be responsible for automation software, robotics, industrial networks, safety systems, data connectivity, and platform standardisation. Working closely with colleagues in Operational Technology, Research & Development, production, maintenance, and with external partners, you'll drive continuous improvements, guide technical decisions, and ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and ready for future growth. You'll play a key role in integrating new technologies, supporting new product introductions, and enabling high-quality production across our moulding operations.
Please note: Relocation support is not available for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience programming, designing, and troubleshooting PLC-based automation systems
- Hands-on experience with robotics applications and automated production equipment
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP and OPC UA
- Experience working with functional safety systems, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting
- Takes ownership, works with autonomy, and drives continuous improvement
- Fluent English, C1 or above, with strong collaboration skills in multicultural environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Omron, or B&R automation platforms
- Experience working with industrial networks and data availability through SCADA and MES solutions
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
- Genuine interest in new technologies and manufacturing innovation
What you'll build
- Drive standardisation across the Low-Volume Moulding platform
- Improve productivity, usability, serviceability, and operational reliability
- Define platform activities that support growth and the introduction of new LEGO elements
- Support the integration of new production technologies into Operational Technology operations
- Provide technical guidance on automation architecture and software design alongside suppliers and equipment designers
- Commission, optimise, and manage platforms and connected equipment throughout their lifecycle
- Engage stakeholders during implementation, ramp-up, and ongoing operation

Life on the team
You'll join Operational Technology Operations, a team of 12 skilled colleagues based across Denmark, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Together, we own and develop automation and robotics software across production platforms, supporting both existing operations and new technologies. We work in a hybrid rhythm built on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
What success looks like
Success means creating a reliable, standardised, and future-ready platform that supports both current production and future innovation. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll help strengthen platform capabilities, support new LEGO element introductions, and expand connected production technologies. You'll work closely with colleagues in Research & Development, Operational Technology, production, maintenance, and with external partners to shape the platform's future direction.
