Mechanical Engineer
Barge Master B.V. · Rotterdam, Netherlands
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
At Barge Master, you'll be part of a hands-on engineering team developing innovative offshore motion compensation systems used around the world. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play an important role in designing equipment that can safely and reliably operate in some of the most demanding offshore conditions.
Your main focus will be on determining and analysing load cases for our machines and their supporting structures. Working closely with designers and fellow engineers, you'll translate calculation results into practical design solutions and help ensure the structural integrity and performance of each system.
You'll also work directly with contractors and suppliers throughout the engineering and build process, discussing feasibility, resolving technical challenges, and supporting quality control. In doing so, you'll balance technical requirements, classification rules, project budgets, and lead times to deliver robust and efficient solutions.
What makes this role particularly rewarding is the level of ownership and involvement throughout the project. From the first engineering concepts and calculations to the final build and testing phase, you'll see how your analyses and design decisions contribute directly to the performance of the finished equipment.
