We are hiring for Head of Operations
An 8-figure DTC consumer brand operating at serious scale. They built a high-performance, direct-response growth engine, sell products at significant volume, and work with a distributed team and partners across multiple functions and countries.. Now their operational infrastructure needs to catch up.
Your mandate is simple: Take operations off the Founder's desk and build a company that can scale without him being involved in the day-to-day.
You'll inherit functioning parts of the business and optimize them but you'll also encounter functions that don't have the systems, ownership, or structure they need yet. You'll build those. You'll design the process. Write the SOP. Create the scorecard. Hire the person. Train the owner. Then remove yourself from the day-to-day.
WHAT YOU OWN
- Back-end operations, end to end. Supply chain. Inventory planning. 3PL and fulfillment. Manufacturing relationships across Asia. Returns. Vendor and agency management.
- Systems and SOPs. Every recurring process gets documented, owned, and measured. If it doesn't exist, build it. If it's broken, rebuild it. The operating system lives in Notion and you'll own it.
- Hiring and org building. See a missing function? Define the role. Build the scorecard. Run the search. Screen. Hire. Onboard. You'll initially be hands-on, but your goal isn't to make yourself indispensable. It's the opposite. Within 12 months, we want 4–6 functional owners running their domains independently.
- Data integrity and reporting. You'll own the weekly numbers leadership uses to run the company. Inventory. Stockouts. Cost per order. Channel and subscription revenue. Vendor performance. Operational KPIs. We want one source of truth.
- Execution accountability. A decision was made? It becomes a written spec: Owner. Deadline. Definition of done. Then you follow it until it's closed.
THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Builder > Maintainer. You've started something from zero - a department, function, operating system, hiring engine, reporting infrastructure.
- Operator > Delegator. You'll build a team, but you're willing to do the work first. You're not above being deep in a spreadsheet reconciling inventory when that's what the business needs.
- Physical-product fluent. You understand lead times, POs, landed costs, inventory, fulfillment, 3PLs, and what happens to revenue when a container is late.
- Diagnostic. When a number moves, you trace it back to the cause.
- Comfortable with mess. You'll discover things that are broken that nobody told you were broken. Your response should be curiosity, not frustration.
EXPERIENCE WE EXPECT
- 3+ years in operations within a physical-product or DTC company, ideally helped operate a brand through the $20M–$50M/year range
- Direct ownership/exposure across supply chain, inventory, 3PL/fulfillment, customer support operations, creative, and growth teams
- Documented proof you've built something from zero and can show us
- Experience hiring, onboarding, managing, and when necessary, letting people go
- Strong working knowledge of Shopify, Notion, spreadsheets, and Claude/AI tooling
WHAT YOU'LL BUILD
- An accurate inventory system of record + PO calendar
- Automated subscription and channel revenue reporting
- A one-page weekly operations scorecard
- A complete and owned SOP library
- Vendor scorecards for every agency and partner
- A live hiring pipeline with role scorecards + work-sample tests
- Repeatable onboarding systems
- Any department the company needs that doesn't exist yet
HOW YOU'LL BE MEASURED
Success looks like..
- 4–6 functional owners operating independently
- Recurring processes documented and owned by someone other than you
- Founder hours spent on operations ZERO
- High inventory accuracy and fewer stockouts
- Cost per order performing against plan
- Operational problems solved before they become Founder problems
There is an opportunity for an equity conversation at the 12-month mark, contingent on performance and progression toward the COO criteria. The COO title is earned when: 4–6 functional owners are running their domains without you being involved daily.
We're looking for the operator who can walk into controlled chaos, build the infrastructure, build the team, and eventually make themselves unnecessary to the day-to-day. If you've done that before, we want to see what you've built.
