Job Overview:
Provide senior field QC oversight for instrumentation and control-system installation, testing and completion, ensuring work conforms to approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, hazardous-area requirements and applicable international standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
TECHNICAL SCOPE

Instrumentation installation, tubing, hook-up and supports

Field instruments, control valves, analyzers and associated interfaces

Instrument / control cabling, glands, termination and identification

Calibration, loop checks, functional tests and commissioning interfaces

Hazardous-area / Ex installation inspection

Punching, completion and turnover records KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Execute field inspections and document results against approved ITPs, quality checklists and acceptance criteria.

Verify materials, installation, calibration and test evidence; confirm instrument identification and traceability.

Inspect Ex installations within assigned competence and verify equipment marking, protection concept, installation details and documentation.

Witness Hold/Witness points, verify readiness before inspection and reject incomplete or non-compliant work.

Raise QOCs/NCRs, support disposition/corrective-action follow-up and verify closure evidence.

Review contractor records and contribute to daily/weekly quality reporting and handover readiness.

Participate as discipline representative in Kick-Off Meetings, Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIMs) and contractor quality reviews.
FIELD PRESENCE & DELIVERY MODEL
Approximately 80% field / 20% office. The inspector is expected to be visibly present at active work fronts; office time is primarily for inspection planning, records, quality reporting, NCR/QOC follow-up and coordination.

Essential Qualifications and Education:
International EPCM level
EDUCATION
Engineering degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation or a closely related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 years relevant instrumentation QC/inspection experience on major industrial EPC/EPCM projects.
- Demonstrated senior field capability across construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning interfaces.
- Experience on multidisciplinary process, energy, hydrogen, petrochemical or comparable industrial facilities preferred.
EU / INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications / competence requirements apply. Certificates shall be valid and verifiable where certification is stated as mandatory.
- ATEX / hazardous-area competence mandatory for assigned scope: recognised CompEx qualification (relevant units) or IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence / accepted equivalent.
- Competence shall match the actual Ex inspection duties; strong working knowledge of IEC/EN 60079 series expected.
- Calibration / instrumentation inspection training or recognised vendor/OEM competence is advantageous.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCE
Role-specific knowledge expected for independent field judgement.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, datasheets, cable schedules and vendor documentation.
- Strong knowledge of instrument installation, tubing, calibration, loop checks, Ex installations and completion records.
