The Road Freight Operations Specialist manages international road freight shipments across EU and non-EU countries, coordinates transport and customs processes, ensures documentation accuracy, and monitors shipments to guarantee efficient and timely delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate international road freight shipments across Europe and non-EU countries, from pickup to final delivery.
- Manage the complete transport process, including collection, operational coordination, shipment tracking, customs coordination, and last-mile delivery.
- Prepare, review, and manage all transport and customs documentation required for import and export road freight operations.
- Coordinate customs clearance processes with customs brokers, customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Monitor shipments proactively to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve operational incidents efficiently.
- Maintain constant communication with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, documentation, and operational updates.
- Handle customer billing and validate supplier invoices accurately.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service and timely responses.
- Collaborate with other company branches and partners across Europe and internationally to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing, and walking. Some light lifting may be required in certain situations.

- Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Knowledge of billing processes and invoice validation.
- Experience or understanding of customs procedures and international trade documentation (CMR, commercial invoices, packing lists, export/import documentation, customs instructions, and related documents).
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- High level of English (written and spoken). Additional European languages are considered a plus.
- Knowledge of international road freight transportation across EU and non-EU countries is highly valued.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or customer service is preferred.
- Experience in international road freight operations and customs documentation is considered an advantage.
