The Analyst I is responsible for performing chemical and physical laboratory testing on petroleum, petrochemical, and related products in accordance with internationally recognized standards such as ASTM, IP, and UOP. The role ensures accurate, reliable, and timely analytical results while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include preparing samples and reagents, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and reviewing analytical data, and supporting quality assurance activities. The Analyst I works closely with senior laboratory personnel, follows established company procedures and HSE policies, and contributes to continuous laboratory performance improvement. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service that meets both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Education and/or experience:
A B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or a related field and at least 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructional and technical materials relating to procedures and safety; and applicable government regulations. Ability to write applicable reports and correspondence clearly. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, schedulers and clients.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables. Able to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.
Social skills:
