Your responsibilities
- Take ownership of General Ledger accounting activities and support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing.
- Prepare and review balance sheet accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and HGB standards.
- Calculate, document and post provisions, recurring entries, accruals and complex manual journal entries.
- Perform valuations of inventories, accounts receivable and accounts payable in cooperation with the Finance and Controlling teams.
- Maintain General Ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy and completeness of related financial reports.
- Execute, monitor and document finance-related internal controls and SOX controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal control requirements and finance master data governance standards.
- Act as a key contact for local management, internal and external auditors, and tax teams.
- Coordinate the timely resolution of audit findings and support the implementation of relevant recommendations.
- Keep the accounting team updated on new internal and external accounting guidelines, including IFRS and HGB requirements.
- Create purchase requisitions and process service entry sheets when required.
- Support cross-functional finance activities and contribute to process improvement, standardization and automation initiatives.
- Provide guidance, knowledge sharing and coordination support within the accounting and closing teams
What we are looking for
- A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in General Ledger accounting within an IFRS and/or HGB reporting environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and HGB accounting standards.
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and closing activities.
- Experience working with internal and external auditors and tax authorities.
- Good understanding of accounting governance, internal controls, SOX requirements and compliance processes.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Practical experience with SAP FI/CO. Knowledge of SAP ACE, ACE BI and BPM would be an advantage.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken .
- A professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent, would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with accuracy and attention to detail.
- A structured, independent and results-oriented approach to work.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to remain effective under pressure, particularly during critical closing periods.
- A collaborative, customer-focused mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
