Cover teacher (temporary)

The Cover Teacher team plays a crucial role in ensuring continuity of learning across the Secondary School. As part of this department, you support students by stepping into lessons whenever teachers are absent, maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment. Cover Teachers work across all subjects and year groups, so flexibility, adaptability and strong classroom management are essential. You will deliver lessons using materials prepared by the subject teacher or department, guide students through the planned activities, and ensure learning continues smoothly. The role requires a student-centred mindset, confidence in working with diverse groups, and the ability to quickly build rapport with learners. Collaboration with Subject Coordinators and colleagues is key, as you help uphold the school’s high standards and contribute to a supportive, international learning community.

• Working pattern: 1 FTE (from 1.11.2026 until 31.07.2027)
• Salary indication: LB scale minimum of €3665 and a maximum of €5586 for a full-time contract

Requirements

• Fully qualified teacher status for Secondary Education in the country the qualification is obtained (preference for subjects such as Mathematics or Sciences). Your teaching qualification must meet the standards required by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO)
• Excellent command of the English language (C2 level)?
• Flexible in your availability to work for us
• Living in the Netherlands with a working visa

Recommendations

• Familiar with EB, IB, GCSE, A levels or similar
• Experience international or intercultural education
• Good ICT skills and an understanding of ICT use in an educational context
• Willingness to be involved in extra-curricular activities
• Knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage
