Our client is launching a strategic initiative to consolidate a highly fragmented data landscape into a unified One-Data Platform built on Microsoft Fabric. The current ecosystem spans multiple tools, data sources, and pipelines across business units and geographies, resulting in duplicated efforts, inconsistent reporting, and limited data accessibility.
The goal is to deliver a scalable, governed, enterprise-grade data platform that serves as the single source of truth for analytics, AI, and operational use cases. This platform will enable self-service analytics, accelerate data product delivery, and support the organization's data-driven transformation.
We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to lead the architectural vision, solution design, and technical governance of the Microsoft Fabric-based One-Data Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with client stakeholders, engineering teams, and delivery leadership to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the One-Data Platform built on Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, and Real-Time Analytics
- Lead and provide technical guidance to engineering teams throughout the platform lifecycle
- Define reference architectures, design patterns, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) aligned with enterprise standards and best practices
- Drive technology decisions and establish best practices for data engineering, DataOps, platform operations, and governance
- Lead the migration and consolidation of legacy data ecosystems into Microsoft Fabric
- Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Data Governance teams to ensure alignment with GDPR and enterprise policies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform and data engineering teams
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions and strategic roadmaps
- Act as a trusted advisor on data platform architecture, modernization, and technology strategy
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data, software, or platform architecture, including at least 3 years in a Platform Architect or Data Architect role within enterprise-scale environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory, Power BI, and Synapse
- Deep knowledge of Azure data services, including ADLS, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Entra ID
- Proven experience with Lakehouse architecture, Medallion architecture, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark
- Strong expertise in data modeling, data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging solutions
- Experience with DataOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Azure DevOps
- Solid understanding of cloud security, RBAC, data privacy, and compliance requirements, including GDPR
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale data platform modernization and migration initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
