About the Role
As a General Manager at Sunny Bay, your job is to deliver excellent service and help create unforgettable experiences for our guests & team members. Your focus will be on leading the team efficiently and positively, in line with our standards.
Primary Objectives
- Oversee all restaurant operations: This is the overarching responsibility, encompassing all other areas according to our standard operating procedures.
- Ensure excellent service and product quality: This directly impacts guests' satisfaction and repeat business, which drives sales and financial success.
- Lead and develop staff: A well-trained and motivated team is essential for delivering excellent service and quality, which in turn supports financial goals.
- Achieve financial targets and cost control: This is a critical outcome of effective operations, service, and staff management.
- Drive business sales & cultivate new opportunities: Increased profitability enables the restaurant to invest in improvements, ensure long-term sustainability, stay ahead of competitors, and build brand awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Success: Achieve targets, drive sales, manage budgets, report on financials
- Kitchen: Oversee kitchen operations, maintain quality, and collaborate on menus
- Guests: Achieve an excellent service experience, manage feedback and complaints, and monitor ticket times
- Business Ops: Manage daily operations, maintain revenue and profitability, handle invoicing, oversee payroll, ensure legal compliance, manage email accounts, merchandise, and maintain cleanliness & maintenance
- Employees: Manage recruitment together with Head of Talent, reviews, discipline, training, holidays, and adherence to HR laws. Oversee delegation, problem-solving, team building, and staff happiness.
- Ensure guests are hosted efficiently to maximize turnover while maintaining high standards
- Be present on the floor at all times
Nature of the job
- Exercise independent & proactive problem-solving and decision-making within the scope of the role.
- Receive guidance and support from senior management through regular meetings.
- Assume ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- The role is not limited to the responsibilities listed above and may include additional tasks as required by the business.
- 3+ years leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
- A natural people person with a passion for hospitality.
- Confident with targets, costs, and business operations.
- A strong communicator with a “yes” mentality.
