The role

Victron Energy is looking for a Product design Engineer to strengthen the HS19 team, which is responsible for a new generation of high-voltage 3-phase battery charger/inverter systems. The HS19 product range was introduced in mid-2026, starting with a 15kW system featuring four high-voltage MPPT solar trackers. A 30kW version (without solar capability) is currently in its final design phase, with additional products already planned.

Victron Energy is looking for a product design engineer who is enthusiastic about designing and introducing these new products into the market. In the meantime, help make the current products in the market a success by constant maintenance and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Development of new versions in the current product range.
  • Keeping a good and clear overview of the entire product range. Determine if and which changes should be implemented and determine priorities.
  • First contact person for product related questions from the factory.
  • Checking and approving alternative components / second source components.
  • Coordinating required product changes, including updates to PCBs, electronic components, mechanics, cables, product stickers, and related items.
  • Updating product manuals and datasheets as needed to reflect product changes, standards updates, and related requirements.
  • Implementing required updates to bills of materials (BoMs), PCB layouts, and schematics.
  • Preparing change documentation for the factory to support the implementation of production updates.
  • Verifying product functionality after changes are introduced and before they are released to the field.
  • Reviewing field returns and customer complaints, and identifying solutions where required.
  • Serving as the main contact for the tester group and providing support when needed.

What do you bring?

You don't need to meet every requirement to be successful in this role, but the following qualifications and experiences may help you thrive.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronics and Electrical engineering.
  • Relevant working experience in the field of (power) electronics is a pre.
  • Structured pragmatic way of working.
  • Independent yet cooperative, hands-on, and technically confident.
  • Good understanding (written and spoken) of the English language.
  • Working experience using PCB layout and schematic drawing software is a must.
