The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead the implementation, coordination and continuous improvement of BIM workflows across multidisciplinary infrastructure and building projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of digital projects, ensuring compliance with BIM standards, information management requirements and project execution strategies. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, design teams, clients and external stakeholders to drive efficient project delivery through innovative digital processes.
As a Senior BIM Manager at Arup, you will:
- Lead BIM implementation strategies on infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects throughout all project phases.
- Review BIM requirements during bid and tender stages, including Employer's Information Requirements (EIRs), BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and BIM assessment documentation.
- Attend and contribute to Digital Inception Process (DIP) meetings and support project mobilisation activities.
- Estimate and manage BIM Management resource requirements across projects.
- Prepare, implement, maintain and continuously improve Project BIM Execution Plans in accordance with ISO 19650.
- Establish, administer and govern Common Data Environments (ACC, BIM Collaborate Pro, BIM 360, ProjectWise or equivalent).
- Organise and chair BIM kick-off meetings, coordination workshops and design review sessions.
- Manage multidisciplinary model federation and conduct model quality reviews, clash detection and compliance audits.
- Coordinate BIM activities across Civil, Structural, Architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Identify opportunities for BIM efficiency improvements, automation and digital innovation.
- Support the implementation of digital delivery initiatives, information management processes and data-driven workflows.
- Develop BIM standards, templates, workflows and best-practice guidance.
- Provide technical mentoring and support to BIM Coordinators and project teams.
- Engage with clients and external stakeholders on BIM strategy, delivery requirements and information management processes.

The role requires someone capable of working across multiple disciplines, engaging with project teams and clients, and driving the adoption of best-practice BIM processes throughout the project lifecycle.
We also value:
- Higher National Diploma (HND), Vocational Qualification, or equivalent studies in Drafting, Civil Engineering Design, Building Design, Construction Project Development, or a related technical discipline. Other BIM-related qualifications, certifications, and technical studies will also be considered.
- Proven experience as BIM Manager, Lead BIM Coordinator or Information Manager on infrastructure and/or building projects.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles and BIM delivery processes.
- Experience developing and managing BIM Execution Plans, EIR responses and BIM delivery strategies.
- Experience managing Common Data Environments and project information workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Revit
- Civil 3D or similar
- OpenRoads or similar
- Tekla Structures
- Navisworks Manage
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Experience leading multidisciplinary BIM coordination and model review processes.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Fluent English.
Desirable
- Experience with Bentley ProjectWise environments.
- Knowledge of OpenBIM workflows and IFC standards.
- Experience with Dynamo, Python or other automation tools.
- Experience in Digital Twins, Asset Information Management or GIS integration.
- Knowledge of Power BI and data analytics workflows.
- Experience supporting BIM consultancy commissions and client-side BIM advisory services.
