Food Safety Manager

What will you do?

As Food Safety Manager, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving our Food Safety Management System. You lead the Food Safety team and work closely with colleagues across Purchasing, Commerce, Operations and Logistics to ensure our products meet the highest food safety and quality standards.

This role combines leadership, strategy and day-to-day operations. While you will spend time working on policies, certifications and continuous improvement, you are also visible on the work floor and involved in daily operations whenever needed.

• Lead, coach and develop the Food Safety team.
• Develop and improve the Food Safety Management System.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer requirements and certification standards.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including BRCGS, IFS and SKAL.
• Act as the primary contact for customers, suppliers, laboratories, certification bodies and regulatory authorities.
• Lead the HACCP team and coordinate food safety projects.
• Manage product recalls and food safety incidents when required.
• Translate legislation and customer requirements into practical procedures.
• Monitor quality performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Commercial, Purchasing and Operations to strengthen food safety throughout the organization.
• This is not a role where you stay behind your desk all day. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is visible throughout the organization and likes turning strategy into practical improvements.

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Safety, Quality Management or a related field.
• Several years of experience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance leadership role.
• Experience with BRCGS, IFS, HACCP, SKAL, GLOBALG.A.P., Chain of Custody and other relevant food safety standards.
• Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and quality management systems.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• You are an approachable leader who enjoys bringing people together. You know how to set priorities, make decisions and motivate your team to achieve the highest quality standards. You are proactive, quality-driven and enjoy working in a dynamic international environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch and/or German are considered an advantage.
