Who are we hiring?
We are seeking a Manager, Marketing & Communications to lead the club’s marketing and communications efforts. This role will be responsible for growing the HB Køge Women brand, driving fan engagement and commercial results, and increasing the club’s visibility across local, national and international markets. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong storyteller who can develop a plan and also roll up their sleeves to execute it. They will own marketing campaigns designed to drive ticketing and merchandise revenue while leading media relations, earned media, press communications and broadcast responsibilities. This is a highly collaborative role that will work closely with the President, sporting department, commercial team, content team, players and coaches to ensure the club presents a consistent and compelling brand across every touchpoint.
What will you do?
Marketing & Fan Engagement
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies designed to drive ticket sales, merchandise revenue, brand awareness and fan engagement.
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans for matches, season ticket initiatives, ticket campaigns, merchandise launches, special events and key club moments.
- Identify opportunities to grow the club’s fanbase and strengthen relationships with existing supporters across digital, social, email and other channels.
- Work closely with the commercial and retail leads to support partner activations, retail initiatives, and revenue-generating opportunities.
- Collaborate with the content team to develop compelling campaigns, storytelling, and creative assets that support marketing objectives.
Communications & Media Relations
- Develop and execute the club’s communications and media strategy to increase positive coverage and visibility of HB Køge Women.
- Build and cultivate strong relationships with local, national and international media, proactively identifying opportunities to tell the club’s story.
- Serve as a key media contact for the club and manage incoming media requests.
- Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories, official statements, game notes and other club communications.
- Coordinate player and coach media availability, including interviews, press conferences, feature opportunities and other media engagements.
- Prepare players, coaches and club representatives for media appearances and interviews as needed.
- Develop compelling storylines and proactively pitch players, coaches, matches, community initiatives and club developments to media.
- Manage and report on earned media coverage, including press clips, reach, value, sentiment and key coverage trends, providing regular reporting to leadership and ownership.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all communications channels.
Broadcast & Matchday Communications
- Oversee all club broadcast responsibilities, including coordination with broadcasters, production partners, rights holders, and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Manage local broadcast partnerships and ensure the club maximizes opportunities for national and international broadcast exposure.
- Coordinate the club’s representation and visibility within national and international broadcasts.
- Manage broadcast-related logistics and requirements for home and away matches, including production coordination, media access and club deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- 2-3 years’ experience in a marketing and communications role with preferred experience in sports
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns that drive measurable business results.
- Strong media relations skills and an established understanding of the local, national and/or international sports media landscape.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced professional sports environment
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, email marketing, CRM and digital analytics.
- Strong commercial mindset with an understanding of how marketing can drive ticketing, merchandise and revenue growth.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Structured and reliable, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights (event evenings).
- Ability to travel with the team to away matches that include broadcast needs
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior leadership.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
- Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
- Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
