AI Engineer
LLM Applications, RAG Systems & Machine Learning
Granada, Spain | Hybrid | Full-time, permanent
About us
KAMIE Solution Factory is the AI transformation partner for international clients, with a special focus on the German Mittelstand, across AI, data and cloud. We help mid-sized companies optimise their processes, make decisions based on data, and achieve real efficiency gains through the targeted use of AI and automation.
We think consulting end to end: Plan. Build. Run. Strategy and delivery come from the same team, which means the systems we design are the systems we actually ship and operate.
You will join our engineering team at KAMIE Solution Factory SL in Granada. We are an international company with people in Spain and Germany, working closely together across both locations. We are growing fast, and the work you build here goes straight into production at our clients.
The role
We are looking for two AI Engineers to design, build and operate production-grade AI systems, from data pipelines and APIs to retrieval-augmented chatbots and custom machine learning models. You will own solutions end to end, from prototype to scalable deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into reliable, maintainable products.
The two positions have different centres of gravity. You do not need to cover both. Tell us in your application which one fits you better, or say if you are genuinely open to either.
FOCUS A
AI Applications & RAG
– Retrieval-augmented chatbots, end to end
– Document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval orchestration
– Conversational interfaces with streaming, session handling and source citations
– Prompt design, evaluation and quality of grounded answers
FOCUS B
Platform, Backend & MLOps
– AI data pipelines for unstructured documents
– Production-grade REST APIs exposing models and inference logic
– Training and serving classification and prediction models
– CI/CD, observability, evaluation, cost and performance optimisation
What you will work on
– Build and maintain AI data pipelines for processing unstructured documents: extraction, structuring and enrichment of raw data using LLMs, embeddings and vector search.
– Design and develop AI-powered API applications that expose models and inference logic, for example semantic similarity, search and recommendation, through well-structured REST APIs.
– Develop retrieval-augmented (RAG) chatbots, owning both the backend (ingestion, chunking, embedding, vector store management, retrieval orchestration) and the conversational frontend (streaming responses, session handling, source citations, multi-channel integration).
– Train and deploy machine learning models for classification and prediction: data preparation, feature engineering, training, evaluation and serving in production.
– Own the full AI service lifecycle: CI/CD, observability, evaluation, and cost and performance optimisation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship dependable solutions.
Tech stack
– Languages & frameworks: Python, FastAPI.
– LLM & RAG: LangChain and the surrounding ecosystem (LangGraph for agent and multi-step orchestration, LangSmith for tracing, evaluation and monitoring), plus LLM provider APIs and embedding models.
– ML: scikit-learn, pandas and related libraries for classification and prediction.
– Vector & data: vector databases (e.g. pgvector), BigQuery, SQL/Postgres.
– Cloud & deployment: GCP as the primary reference (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, GCS), or local on-premises deployment using Kubernetes.
– DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), observability and monitoring tooling.
What you bring
Roughly one to three years of hands-on experience in software, data or ML engineering. We care more about substance than years: demonstrable, production-minded work with LLM-based applications counts, whether it comes from a job, open source, a thesis or a serious side project.
Must-have
– Strong Python and solid software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, clean architecture.
– Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, including the LangChain ecosystem (LangChain, LangGraph).
– Practical understanding of embeddings and vector search.
– Experience building REST APIs (FastAPI or equivalent).
– Willingness to take ownership: you see a problem through to production, not just to the demo.
– Fluent English. Working proficiency in German is a real plus, but not a requirement.
– Work Permit for Spain: As we want to employ you as soon as possible, NIE and Social Security number need to be available.
Nice-to-have
– Experience deploying and operating services in the cloud or on Kubernetes, with CI/CD and containerisation.
– Classical ML experience: training classification and prediction models, feature engineering, evaluation.
– LangSmith or comparable LLM evaluation, tracing and observability tooling.
– Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows) or self-managed Kubernetes.
– Frontend experience for building conversational interfaces.
– Spanish language skills for the local team.
What we offer
– Salary: 28,000 to 38,000 EUR gross per year[MD1] , depending on experience and focus area. Permanent contract with KAMIE Solution Factory SL, full-time.
– 30 working days of paid holiday per year. Well above the Spanish standard. Real time to switch off.
– Hybrid. We are opening our own office in Granada. We are aiming for around three days a week on-site, shaped together with the team. You should be based in or willing to relocate to the Granada area.
– Private health insurance with Adeslas. Covered by us, with the option to add your family members to the policy.
– Flexible working hours. Core hours instead of fixed schedules (jornada intensiva might be an option in the future)
– A MacBook and the AI tools you need. We work on MacBooks, and we pay for the licences that make the work good: LLM providers, coding assistants, tracing and evaluation tooling.
– An international team across Spain and Germany. You work with colleagues in both countries, not in an isolated offshore unit.
– Quarterly company-wide all-hands. The whole company meets in person every quarter, in changing locations, with real time to socialise, not just slides.
– Short paths, no corporate overhead. Direct line to the management team. What you build ships.
How to apply
No cover letter. Send us your LinkedIn profile or a short CV, plus two or three sentences on why this role fits you, and tell us which of the two focus areas you lean towards.
If you have a GitHub profile, a project you shipped, or anything else that shows your work with LLMs, send the link. It counts more than a list of technologies. We reply within five working days.
