Description

This position is a postdoctoral appointment intended to support the development of independent researchers. You will work within a strong cardiovascular research group and receive close supervision as well as active mentorship.

Responsibilities

The position involves work in data science, utilizing population-based databases, quality registries, and regional electronic health records (EHRs) through the research infrastructure available at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and the regional research platform.

Analyses will be performed using both traditional statistical methods, including:

• Linear regression
• Logistic regression
• Survival analysis

as well as advanced methodologies such as:

• Machine Learning (ML)
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI)

You will be expected to:

• Conduct independent methodological development and research.
• Prepare scientific reports and manuscripts for publication.
• Present findings at scientific conferences.
• Contribute to grant applications and research funding proposals.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in:

• Data Science
• Biostatistics
• Bioinformatics

or a closely related field, preferably with a focus on health data.

You should have experience working with medical databases and/or bioinformatics and demonstrate an interest in advancing research within medical data processing, analytics, and methodological development.

Terms of Employment

This is a two-year postdoctoral appointment with an expectation of conducting independent data-analytical and methodological research within the cardiovascular field, based on multimodal health data.
