Intact, the world’s leading software solutions provider for the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, is looking for an Applied AI/ML Engineer to help build the intelligence layer for the future of global assurance.

For more than 25 years, our software has helped certification bodies, accreditation bodies and scheme owners digitize complex assurance processes. But we believe the next chapter will look fundamentally different. Our ambition is not to add AI features to an existing product. We are building the platform that will connect operational workflows, ecosystem collaboration, proprietary data and artificial intelligence to help customers make better decisions.

As an Applied AI/ML Engineer, you’ll work directly inside our product squads, alongside Product Managers, Product Designers and Software Engineers. Your job won’t be to experiment with AI in isolation. You’ll identify where intelligence can fundamentally improve a workflow, prototype solutions quickly, and turn the ones that work into reliable production capabilities used by customers around the world.

ARE YOU READY?

• Build AI-powered capabilities directly into our core product and customer workflows
• Work as part of cross-functional product squads from discovery through production
• Turn complex customer problems into practical applications of AI and machine learning
• Prototype rapidly, validate with real users and productionize what creates measurable value
• Build with LLMs, RAG, agents, machine learning and other emerging AI technologies where they genuinely improve the product
• Leverage proprietary ecosystem data to create intelligent recommendations, predictions and decision support
• Design reliable, observable and scalable AI systems rather than isolated demos
• Help create reusable AI capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple product domains
• Shape how Applied AI becomes a core part of Intact’s product engineering discipline

ARE YOU THE ONE?

• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience building machine learning, AI or data-driven software products
• Strong software engineering skills, ideally in Python and modern cloud environments
• Hands-on experience taking AI/ML capabilities from prototype to production
• Experience with modern LLM application development, including areas such as RAG, tool use, agents, evaluation and structured outputs
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and when traditional machine learning is preferable to generative AI
• Experience integrating models and AI services into real software products through APIs and production infrastructure
• Comfortable working with imperfect data, ambiguous problems and rapidly evolving technology
• Product-minded engineer who starts with the problem, not the model
• Pragmatic builder who enjoys turning ideas into working software quickly
• Curious about new AI capabilities without chasing technology for its own sake
• Comfortable working directly with Product, Design, Engineering and customers
• Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs clearly
• High ownership, low ego and comfortable making decisions under uncertainty
• Fluent in English, German and additional languages are a plus
• Nice to have: Experience with with vector databases, embeddings, knowledge graphs or semantic; with AI evaluation, observability, guardrails and production monitoring; recommendation, prediction, classification or decision-support systems; with Azure and modern data platforms; and in B2B SaaS or highly regulated industries

• Fair compensation: starting at € 64,554 gross/year (fulltime), with significant overpayment depending on seniority and experience, up to € 85,000 gross/year.
