SAP Basis System Architect

We're looking for an SAP Basis System Architect to join our team in Spain in a remote working mode. In this role, you will lead architecture design, modernization and operational excellence for SAP landscapes, ensuring they are scalable, secure and cloud-ready. You will define platform standards, deliver transformation programs and enable clean, automated operations across hybrid environments.

This position involves working on large enterprise SAP initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud ALM and RISE with SAP solutions, while collaborating with global teams to set governance frameworks, security architecture and performance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define SAP platform architecture standards and governance frameworks
• Design SAP S/4HANA landscapes for on-premise, private cloud and public cloud deployments
• Lead RISE with SAP migration and cloud transformation programs
• Architect high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical systems
• Develop SAP system sizing and performance strategies
• Define transport and landscape management strategies aligned with DevOps principles
• Establish SAP security architecture and compliance controls in collaboration with security teams
• Drive SAP Basis modernization and enforce Clean Core principles
• Implement monitoring and observability standards using SAP Cloud ALM
• Define automation approaches for system provisioning and operational processes
• Support hyperscaler deployments across Azure, AWS and GCP
• Provide technical leadership during upgrades, migrations and conversion projects

Requirements

• Extensive experience in SAP Basis administration and architecture leadership
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver and SAP HANA database platforms
• Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager and SAP Focused Run
• Experience with SAP Landscape Management and RISE with SAP
• Proficiency with high availability, disaster recovery and performance engineering
• Understanding of SAP platform security frameworks including IAS/IPS, Single Sign-On, TLS/certificates and authorization concepts
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience defining governance models, architecture patterns and automation strategies
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, monitoring frameworks and infrastructure operations in SAP environments

Nice to have

• Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) administration
• Familiarity with tools like LeanIX, Signavio for architecture governance
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code methodologies with Terraform
• Background in SAP security compliance and advanced observability
