Team Nordic is looking for an Underwriter / Senior Underwriter
As The Swedish Club continues to see growth and opportunities, we are looking for a dedicated Underwriter to join our Team Nordic in Gothenburg. The final seniority of the position will be set based on the candidate´s experience and expertise within underwriting.
Our Team Nordic is responsible for the Club’s operations (underwriting, claims, and legal support) in Northern Europe and Turkey. To strengthen our underwriting and commercial activities in Northern Europe, we are looking for an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter to join our team. Work tasks will include;
- Business and market development; risk assessment, pricing and underwriting of new business
- Portfolio and account management; underwriting of existing business, including day-today cover and policy matters, and responsibility for member relationships and renewals
- Establish, manage and develop long-term business relationships with shipowners, insurance brokers and other business partners
- Close cooperation with claims handlers and technical staff in risk and pricing assessment
We are looking for somebody with a genuine interest in shipping and the world of marine insurance. Experience from marine underwriting, broking or any other relevant role in marine insurance will be of great value, but is not considered a necessity.
Our working language is English. As the position involves daily contacts with clients, brokers, and colleagues in several countries, it is vital that you can express yourself accurately in English, both verbally and in writing. Traveling to members and brokers will be frequent.
Your passion for international marine insurance will be appreciated by members and colleagues. We expect you to be systematic and accurate and to have social skills in your interaction with members and colleagues.
