Overview
The Head of Global Infrastructure & Network is responsible for executing the global strategy, governance, and operational management of Werfen's technology infrastructure, network, data centers and cloud.
This role ensures the availability, scalability, security, resilience, and performance of the global infrastructure environment that supports critical business operations worldwide. The position provides leadership to a global team of infrastructure and network professionals, drives technology modernisation initiatives, manages strategic vendor partnerships, and aligns infrastructure capabilities with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Define and execute the global infrastructure and network strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Lead global infrastructure operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and service excellence across all regions.
- Own the design, governance, and lifecycle management of network services, data centres, cloud connectivity, server infrastructure, and related platforms.
- Drive infrastructure modernisation initiatives, including automation, standardisation, cloud integration, and technology refresh programmes.
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, KRIs, capacity planning, and resilience objectives to ensure continuous service improvement.
- Ensure infrastructure services comply with security, regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements in partnership with Cybersecurity and Risk Management teams.
- Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience programmes for infrastructure and network services.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and third-party service providers to optimise service quality and cost efficiency.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing global team, fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Partner with business, application, cybersecurity, cloud, and service management teams to deliver reliable and scalable technology capabilities that support organisational growth.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, network, and IT operations leadership within a global enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management principles and operational excellence practices.
- Experience with IT budgeting, vendor management, procurement, and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of heterogeneous hardware, software and cloud environment as well as networking technologies (AWS, Azure, Vmware, Microsoft, SDWAN, Firewalls, etc).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting global business operations in a highly regulated environment preferred.
