What You'll be doing:
- Own and maintain deep expertise in the organization's domain model — designing database structures, schemas, tables, indexes, and data models that reflect how data is structured and related across products.
- Develop and optimize queries, stored procedures, and database processes to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Map and reconcile data models across products to enable cross-sell initiatives and other data-integration efforts, acting as the go-to technical authority for adjacent teams on how data connects across the platform.
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning and capacity planning activities to meet the scale and performance demands of large enterprise customers.
- Implement and maintain database security controls, including user access management, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs through data extraction and database solutions.
- Collaborate with application developers, data teams, and infrastructure teams to integrate and support enterprise systems.
- Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and best practices to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Set database standards and best practices across teams, and act as the senior technical point of contact for data-integration questions from product, engineering, and adjacent teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience with strong knowledge of SQL and database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of data modelling, indexing, query optimization, and database architecture.
- Programming and automation skills using languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and performance management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience mapping and integrating data models across multiple products or systems, and supporting database performance at enterprise scale.
