The project!

As a Health & Safety specialist, you will verify and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures of the company to ensure the compliance of all local legislations, enhance work conditions of all employees and create and maintain safe workplaces.

What will the role entail?

• Be an active member of the “Servicio de Prevención Propio”, collaborating in the implementation of Health & Safety Policies and ensuring compliance with local requirements and corporate standards.
• Inspect regularly workplace environments, activities and conditions to verify compliance with local laws, regulations or requirements and to carry out onsite risk assessments, proposing and monitoring preventive measures to minimize risks.
• Organise global programs and appointments for medical check-ups and conduct or arrange educational trainings to instruct all workers according to mandatory requirements or health & safety corporate policies.
• Prepare technical H&S documentation: medical limitations, vulnerable workers, proposals for job adaptations, procedures with temporary employment agencies, pregnant or breastfeeding women protection, coordination between companies in the same workplace, etc.
• Investigate and analyse accidents, incidents and near misses to identify root causes, eliminate existing dangers and develop actions that will reduce the risk of other accidents from occurring.
• Develop emergency response plans and review onsite available resources for potentially unsafe situations. Arrange emergency and first aid training programs.
• Manage assigned labour inspections and health and safety audits.
• Reporting of health and safety performance KPIs and accident rates.
• Participate in Health and Safety committees ensuring that all proposed actions and measures are in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
• Participate actively in the development of actions to promote a global preventive culture throughout the company.
• Be keep up to date with Health and Safety legislation to be aware of any developments that could affect the Retail industry.

Requirements:

• University Degree
• Master in Health & Safety with the 3 specialties according to Spanish legislation (safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and psychosociology)
• 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Multi-site and international experience
• English C1
• Knowledge of local legislations in terms of Health & Safety
• Driving licence
• MS Office
