THE POSITION
As a 2nd Officer and DPO, you support the safe and efficient operation of our installation vessels. You assist the Chief Officer with navigation and take responsibility for safety related tasks on board. You also contribute to production, continuity and operational improvements. Together with the Master, Chief Officer and crew, you help keep the vessel ready for every operation. You also share your knowledge with colleagues and trainees.
YOUR IMPACT
Your work helps our vessels operate safely, efficiently and responsibly. You combine your navigational skills with a strong focus on safety, the environment and vessel performance. You contribute to improvements and help the crew work effectively.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Chief Officer with navigational duties and acting as Safety Officer
- Supporting safe and environmentally responsible vessel operations
- Monitoring production and vessel continuity and contributing to improvements
- Working with the Master and Chief Officer to improve production methods
- Training and coaching 3rd Officers and trainees and maintaining ship administration ABOUT YOU
You are a practical professional who stays focused in a changing operational environment. You communicate clearly, work well with others and take responsibility for safety. You are also willing to share your knowledge and support others.
In addition, you have:
- A maritime education at intermediate or higher level and/or relevant experience as an officer of the navigational watch
- DPO certificates that enable you to be deployed in the role
- The required STCW certificates and willingness to complete Van Oord training
- Professional proficiency in English WE OFFER
