Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is a hybrid role based in Victoria, BC. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and supporting project-based accounting initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000 CAD
Key responsibilities:

Execute and support daily accounting operations, including journal entries, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, eliminations, project accounting, and reconciliations, across our Canadian and US entities

Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements in compliance with IFRS, under the Controller's direction on complex technical areas

Support project accounting systems and processes, ensuring they align with organizational goals

Collaborate with the Controller to enhance financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems

Interact with external auditors and tax consultants during annual audits and periodic compliance reviews

Ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data to senior management

Support the use of NetSuite to improve financial operations and data integrity

Oversee third party payroll vendors as needed Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-
4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and month-end or year-end close in a multi-entity environment

Comfortable working directly with external auditors

CPA designation, or actively enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), preferred

Experience with IFRS or US GAAP financial statements

Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software

Proficiency in Excel

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
