About the job
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead projects of moderate to high complexity across different business domains. The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives in areas such as investor engagement, impact investment, finance, risk, data, technology and organisational transformation.
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of projects from early problem framing and scoping through planning, implementation, adoption and handover to business as usual. The role ensures that initiatives are delivered within agreed scope, budget and timelines, while achieving the intended business outcomes and expected value.
Working closely with business stakeholders, senior sponsors, IT delivery teams and support functions, the Project Manager provides leadership, alignment and structure throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires the ability to manage risks, dependencies, competing priorities and stakeholder expectations within complex change environments.
Reporting to the Head of the COO Office, the Project Manager operates with a high degree of autonomy and applies agile or hybrid delivery approaches as appropriate. The role is accountable for delivering sustainable outcomes that support organisational objectives, PMO standards and strategic priorities.
Main responsibilities
- End-to-end delivery: Lead the full lifecycle of strategic change initiatives, from problem definition and initial scope to implementation, adoption and handover to BAU.
- Planning and adaptive delivery: Translate strategic priorities into realistic delivery plans, including scope, milestones, budget, resource needs, dependencies and success criteria.
- Stakeholder alignment: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, business leads, IT teams, functional experts and senior stakeholders.
- Governance and decision preparation: Prepare clear decision materials, escalate risks and trade-offs when needed, and support transparent decision-making through the relevant governance forums.
- Budget and resource management: Develop and monitor budgets, track costs, coordinate resources and support cost-effective delivery.
- Risk and issue management: Identify risks early, define mitigation actions and actively manage issues that could affect delivery, adoption or benefits.
- Change readiness and adoption: Ensure that impacted teams are prepared for the change, including process readiness, business validation, communication, training and handover.
- Quality and benefits realisation: Track progress against agreed success measures, safeguard delivery quality and support benefits tracking after implementation.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute to improving project management standards, tools, templates and ways of working within the COO Office.
Required experience and capabilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, IT or a related field.
- Relevant project management certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum).
- Demonstrated experience (min 5 years) leading cross-functional business and technology projects from initiation through implementation, adoption and handover.
- Strong planning, stakeholder management, budgeting and risk management capabilities.
- Experience with project management methodologies, including agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred experience and capabilities
- Experience with system implementation, migration, integration or replacement projects.
- Experience working with external vendors, software providers or implementation partners.
- Knowledge of financial services, impact investing, investor services or lending operations, is highly valued.

Additional remarks
This role is open for 36 hours a week (90%).
To support collaboration within the team and local business operations, candidates must reside in the Netherlands.
