Early Years Teacher (PYP)

SEK Catalunya International School is looking for an Early Years Teacher to join its academic team, with immediate availability.

Mission

To nurture children's early foundations by creating a warm, stimulating and play-based learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and curious. Through developmentally appropriate exploration, sensory experiences and emergent inquiry, the successful candidate will support young learners in becoming confident communicators, joyful explorers and compassionate members of their community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement teaching plans for transdisciplinary and disciplinary units.
• Participate in Early Years team meetings and collaborative planning.
• Observe, document and assess children's development using age-appropriate tools.
• Communicate regularly with families about children's wellbeing and progress.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
• Participate in school events, including celebrations, festivals and Open Days.

Requirements

• University degree in Early Years Education or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Previous teaching experience in Early Years.
• Experience within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) will be highly valued.
• Native or native-level English proficiency.
• Strong pedagogical and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to the individual needs of students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create an inclusive, collaborative and engaging learning environment.
• Commitment to teamwork and collaborative practice.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan.
• Experience in an international or bilingual educational environment.
• Experience using inquiry-based, play-based and child-centred approaches to learning.

We Offer

• Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9:20 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Contract: Temporary cover position.
• Start date: As soon as possible.
• Salary: According to the applicable agreement.
• Location: SEK Catalunya International School.
