Control Systems Development Engineer – Consulting Assignment within Energy/Power Generation
We at WeQuel are now looking for a Control Systems Development Engineer in Finspång, where you will become an important part of a highly skilled development team with a focus on control system engineering for medium gas turbines. You will develop and maintain control system software applications (SIMATIC SPPA-T3000 and PCS 7), ensuring our client's products meet market requirements, while working closely with other departments and designers to integrate the control system into the overall product design.
As a consultant with us, you get the opportunity to work with one of our clients, a leading company within the energy and power generation industry, where you contribute to optimizing control system processes, implementing robust technical solutions and creating safe, high-quality and cyber-secure systems.
Your responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of control system software applications for MGT products
- Engineering and technical solutions in assigned development projects
- Collaboration with project team and project manager to meet specified requirements and technical roadmap
- Development of work processes and ways of working for improved team and project outcomes
- Engineering and configuration of T3000 and PCS7 control systems, including control logic, sequences, interlocks, HMI/OS displays, alarms and reports
- Implementation of change and configuration management, version control and rigorous testing
- Integration of field instrumentation and subsystems; management of communication via industrial protocols (e.g. Profibus/Profinet, Modbus TCP, OPC)
- Application of industry standards and best practices for safety, quality and cybersecurity
- Continuous learning and knowledge sharing with the team
You work in a dynamic environment where you independently drive your work forward while collaborating with multiple interfaces within the organization.
Requirements:
- Extensive, multi-year experience working with automation and control technologies
- Extensive knowledge of T3000 and knowledge of PCS7
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop sheets and instrument datasheets
- Proficient English skills, both spoken and written, at a professional level
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with colleagues and customers in international settings
- A proactive mindset with the ability to ask questions, challenge the status quo and contribute innovative suggestions
- Advantageous: experience with Matlab or similar modeling/simulation tools, Functional Safety (SIL), Cyber Security, and system networking/VMware
