Your Task

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to join our international team and lead software development initiatives for projects within the German public sector. In this role, you will act as the technical authority, translating customer requirements into scalable and secure software architectures while guiding development teams through the entire delivery lifecycle.

You will work closely with customers, project managers, developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to design robust solutions, provide technical leadership, and ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Translate business and customer requirements into technical architectures and implementation plans
• Design scalable, maintainable, and cloud-native software solutions
• Analyze complex technical requirements and define suitable technology stacks
• Design and define system interfaces and integration concepts
• Prepare effort estimations, technical calculations, and implementation roadmaps
• Lead architecture discussions with customers and stakeholders
• Present and defend technical solutions in both technical and business-oriented meetings
• Provide guidance and support throughout the software development lifecycle
• Lead and mentor development teams of 6-8 engineers
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to architecture and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, DevOps Engineers, and QA teams
• Support quality assurance activities and operational excellence
• Drive continuous improvement in architecture, processes, and development practices

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Architect
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in backend software development
• Strong experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture Management

Proven ability to create clean, scalable, and sustainable software architectures

• Experience leading technical teams and coordinating software delivery
• Practical experience managing development teams of approximately 6-8 people
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, architecture patterns, and system desig
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and moderation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• High level of self-motivation and ownership
• Solution-oriented and structured way of working

Leadership skills and the ability to guide teams methodically

• German and English - Professional working proficiency
