Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. 3PL Supplier Management (35%)
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and suppliers across Factory-to-Warehouse (FTW) and Factory-to-Customer (FTC) transport, warehousing, parcels, pallets, and consumables within the Nordics. Ensure services, products, and costs are delivered in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.
- Act as the primary operational escalation point and lead monthly performance reviews with key logistics partners to maintain high service standards.
- Ensure logistics supplier compliance withMars Distribution Quality Management (DQM) andExternal Manufacturing Quality Management (EMQM) standards.
- Oversee and enforce robust stock control and inventory management practices across all 3PL supplier warehouses and stock locations.
2. Operational Strategy, Continuous Improvement Sustainability (30%)
- Establish, monitor, and manage comprehensive logistics SLAs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Including reporting tools to monitor activity and performance.
- Lead strategic Route-to-Market (RTM) analysis to fully align logistics capabilities with broader business, commercial, segment strategies and driving sustainability solutions.
- Identify, lead, and deliver on business unit LogisticsDo it Best (DiB) and cost-saving initiatives to optimize logistics conversion costs and drive value.
- Optimize and streamline the logistics network to drive operational efficiencies, reduce lead times, and elevate customer service standards.
- Lead the seamless implementation and compliance monitoring of all key external regulatory and statutory mandates within the logistics network.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration Commercial Support (20%)
- Build and maintain highly collaborative, strategic relationships with the European Supply Chain Team to align on regional initiatives, leverage scale, and share best practices.
- Serve as the primary technical expert and go-to point of contact for the business unit on all logistics operations.
- Provide active involvement and technical logistics support to all segments duringpromotional events and sales campaigns to ensure seamless product availability and execution.
- Influence, align, and deliver on departmental and segment-specific business plans to support overall organizational growth.
- Cascade global and group logistics targets and strategies across the business unit while actively sharing best practices within the broader Logistics Manager Community.
4. Site Visits Quality Audits (15%)
- Conduct regular on-site audits and visits to regional external warehouses, co-packing facilities, and logistics hubs to ensure operational compliance with Mars Quality, Safety (HSE), and DQM/EMQM standards.
Note: Active, hands-on field involvement is required. Regular regional travel (up to 20%) is an essential requirement of this role to maintain partner relationships and audit facility standards across the Nordic countries. A Full Driving Licence is required.
What do we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent operational experience).
- 5 years of experience in transportation coordination, logistics planning, 3PL management, or warehouse operations roles, preferably within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or food manufacturing industry.
- Systems Literacy: High proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and transport management software (TMS). Advanced skills in MS Excel and data analysis tools (such as Power BI) are highly valued.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and root-cause analysis skills, with a track record of making rapid, logical decisions under pressure when dealing with supply chain disruptions.
- Communication Influencing: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively negotiate with external transport providers, influence senior cross-functional stakeholders, and align commercial expectations.
- Resilience Adaptability: Ability to stay organized, manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, and navigate complex operational environments with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Prioritisation Time Management: Proven ability to manage competing demands, prioritize critical tasks, and coordinate complex schedules in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
