Your day-to-day activities
As CADM Lead, you will be responsible for Configuration and Data Management activities within a mission-critical system that is part of the Galileo 2nd Generation infrastructure.
Galileo is Europe’s own global satellite navigation system, providing highly accurate positioning services under civilian control. Within this complex and security-sensitive environment, effective configuration and data management is essential to ensure that system baselines, documentation, software, hardware and other configuration items remain controlled, traceable and compliant throughout the project lifecycle.
You will lead the CADM activities within the project and work closely with project management, systems engineering, software and infrastructure teams, quality assurance, security teams and customer stakeholders. You will ensure that configuration and data management processes are consistently applied and that project deliverables meet contractual and programme requirements.
The role includes the following elements:
- Leading Configuration and Data Management activities for the project;
- Defining, maintaining, and implementing Configuration Management and Data Management plans, processes, procedures, and work instructions;
- Establishing, controlling and maintaining project configuration baselines throughout the project lifecycle;
- Managing configuration items, including documentation, software and system-related artefacts;
- Ensuring identification, version control, status accounting and traceability of configuration items;
- Coordinating and supporting Change Control Boards (CCBs) and configuration-related reviews;
- Managing change requests and ensuring that approved changes are correctly implemented and recorded;
- Coordinating the preparation, review, release, delivery and archiving of project documentation and data;
- Monitoring and reporting on the quality, accuracy, and completeness of configuration and data records;
- Supporting internal and customer audits, reviews and milestone deliveries;
- Producing configuration status reports and relevant project metrics;
- Ensuring compliance with project, customer, CGI and applicable space-industry processes and standards;
- Providing leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to project team members on CADM processes, tools, and best practices;
- Acting as the main point of contact for Configuration and Data Management matters within the project.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance CADM processes, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
What you need to be successful in this role
The successful candidate has a structured and quality-driven approach and understands the importance of configuration control within complex engineering environments. You are comfortable coordinating activities across multiple disciplines and stakeholders and are able to maintain oversight while paying close attention to detail.
Essential qualifications
- Relevant higher professional or academic education, preferably in engineering, information technology, aerospace, systems engineering or a comparable discipline;
- Professional experience in Configuration Management, Data Management, Document Management or a related discipline within complex technical projects;
- Experience establishing and maintaining configuration baselines and configuration records;
- Experience with change and configuration control processes;
- Experience managing technical documentation and formal project deliverables;
- Familiarity with configuration management and document management tools;
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across multidisciplinary teams;
- An analytical and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to identify process or configuration inconsistencies;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience within the space, defence, aerospace or other safety- or mission-critical sectors is considered a strong advantage. Knowledge of relevant ECSS configuration and information management standards is also advantageous.

- You are an EU citizen, in possession of or eligible for an EU Personal Security Clearance at CONFIDENTIAL level or above;
- You have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills while working in an international team;
- You are comfortable working in a structured, process-driven and security-sensitive environment;
- You are able to communicate effectively with technical specialists, project management and customer representatives;
- You are willing to travel to client sites and other CGI offices across Europe when required.
