Deadline 9 Sep Country Sweden Location Stockholm Job-ID R0040291 Job category IT & Software Development
At Alleima, data is a strategic asset and a key enabler for business performance, digitalization, and future innovation. We are building an Alleima Common Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric that will become a central foundation for trusted, scalable, and business-driven data across the company. When fully implemented, the platform will support analytics, reporting, and decision-making across key domains including Finance, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Sustainability.
This is an opportunity to take a central role in defining and evolving a platform that connects business needs, architecture principles, and hands-on technical realization. As our Lead Data Platform Architect, you will help shape how Alleima works with modern data architecture, reusable data products, and scalable analytics capabilities.
Data and AI are among the fastest-moving fields out there. What’s considered best practice today can become legacy tomorrow. Alleima works in a modern, fast-paced way, and we see AI as essential to working efficiently. We’re looking for someone who wants to keep pace with developments in an evolving technology landscape.
Placement: Flexible within Sweden.
About the role
As Lead Data Platform Architect, you will define, lead, and realize the technical architecture for Alleima’s Common Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric. Working in close partnership with the Platform Owner, you will drive the end-to-end architecture and collaborate with domain data engineers, BI teams, enterprise architects, and solution teams.
You work both strategically and operationally, from defining target architecture, standards, and reusable patterns to supporting solution design, technical reviews, and complex design decisions in practice. The role also includes guiding platform evolution, enabling strong engineering practices, and ensuring that the Common Data Platform supports cross-functional analytics and decision-making across the company.
The platform journey is already underway, giving you the opportunity to influence its next phase and help turn emerging solutions into robust, reusable capabilities across Alleima.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end architecture for the Common Data Platform, from source integration and ingestion to transformation, storage, semantic modeling, visualization, and analytics, and define the target architecture, reference patterns, and engineering standards that guide its evolution.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data solutions in Microsoft Fabric, using capabilities such as lakehouse and medallion patterns, notebooks, data pipelines, and semantic models.
- Enable domain data engineers and BI teams to build high-quality solutions by supporting the design and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines, reusable information models, and analytics capabilities using SQL, Python/PySpark, and related technologies.
- Establish strong engineering and governance practices across the platform, including CI/CD, Git-based development, deployment, metadata, lineage, cataloging, and documentation, ensuring solutions are secure, standardized, reusable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coach data engineers, BI developers, and solution teams, sharing best practices and helping teams make sound architectural and technical decisions while building strong capabilities across the organization.
- Explore and evaluate new developments in Microsoft Fabric, AI-assisted engineering, and the broader data ecosystem, bringing relevant capabilities into the platform where they create real value.
About you
We believe you hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. You bring solid, hands-on experience from data platforms, analytics, data engineering, and architecture roles, and you are comfortable working across both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
You likely have a background as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, Lead Data Engineer, or similar. What matters more than years in the role is technical depth combined with real curiosity. You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed below. What matters most is deep experience in modern cloud data platforms and a strong understanding of data architecture and engineering.
You have strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks, Power BI and semantic models, Azure data platform services, and modern data engineering practices using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
You are familiar with ETL/ELT design, orchestration, CI/CD, Git-based development, integration patterns, and secure enterprise data platform design. Experience with Purview, Entra ID, Dataverse/D365 integrations, and Azure integration or cloud architecture patterns is considered a plus.
We see AI-assisted development tools, such as Copilot and LLM-based assistants, as a natural part of modern engineering. You actively use these tools in your work today and are interested in continuing to explore how they can strengthen engineering practices and create value.
As a person, you are driven, curious, and collaborative, with the ability to coach others, challenge your own thinking, and keep learning as the field moves — you’re energized by staying at the front of it, not by having already arrived. You are fluent in English, and Swedish is a plus.
For this position, you need to be based in Sweden.
What you can expect from us
- Be part of shaping Alleima’s modern data platform and analytics foundation in a strategically important role.
- Work in a position where you combine architecture leadership with practical technical influence across business-critical domains.
- Work closely with engaged stakeholders, architects, BI teams, and engineers, where you contribute your expertise, learn from others, and solve complex challenges together.
- Continue to grow through shared learning and complex challenges in Microsoft Fabric, enterprise architecture, analytics, governance, and modern data engineering.
- Contribute to a long-term platform journey that supports better decision-making, stronger data capabilities, and future digital ambitions across Alleima.
- Work in a fast-moving, modern engineering culture where AI-assisted tools are part of the everyday toolbox and help us work more efficiently and deliver high-quality solutions.
