Senior Regulatory Specialist

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Regulatory Specialist will strengthen regulatory capability for Cargill Ag & Trading EMEA in a complex and continuously evolving European environment. Working closely with the A&T EMEA Regulatory Lead, the role will provide technical, regulatory and operational support across agricultural raw materials, products, production, trade flows and supply chains.

You will monitor and interpret relevant requirements, assess business impact, coordinate implementation and maintain clear regulatory documentation. The role will help anticipate emerging risks, support business decisions and incidents, and improve organizational resilience.

It supports - and does not replace - the Regulatory Lead, who remains accountable for strategy, advocacy, complex interpretation and external influence.

The place of work will be one of Cargill’s EMEA locations, such as Spain, France, Netherlands, Belgium etc.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor relevant EMEA regulatory developments and translate them into concise impact assessments, priorities and implementation actions for the business.
• Provide regulatory guidance for agricultural raw materials, products, new product introductions, new origins or suppliers, production changes, and new import, export or commercial flows.
• Support product stewardship activities, including REACH and safety data sheet governance, technical data documentation, hazard communication and scientific or toxicological risk assessment where applicable.
• Advise on applicable food, feed, technical and biofuel-related legislation in partnership with the Regulatory Lead and relevant subject-matter experts.
• Create and maintain regulatory matrices, inventories, fact sheets, FAQs, knowledge-base content, SDS/TDS documentation and training materials.
• Support incidents, customer inquiries, audits, inspections and authority requests; coordinate cross-functional evidence and escalate emerging, complex or precedent-setting risks to the Regulatory Lead.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Toxicology, Food or Feed science, Agricultural sciences, life sciences or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, chemical compliance, food/feed compliance or another regulated technical environment.
• Ability to interpret complex requirements, assess their operational impact and convert them into clear, practical actions.
• Strong analytical, documentation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across functions and countries.
• Professional fluency in English; willingness to work across EMEA zones and travel when business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in agribusiness, agricultural trading, food/feed, oilseeds, cereals, vegetable oils, seeds, co-products or related supply chains.

• Raw materials supply chain experience

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following: REACH, SDS governance, product stewardship, toxicology or risk assessment.

• Knowledge of European food/feed legislation and/or requirements related to biofuels or biofuel-linked products.

• Experience supporting cross-border trade, import/export decisions, regulatory incidents, audits, inspections or customer and authority inquiries.

• Advanced knowledge of laws & regulations relevant to agricultural raw materials in EU

• Advanced management and regulatory processes improvement skills – delivering processes that are aligned, effective, and optimize Cargill resources
