Senior C++ Developer

We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer to join our global team working on client connectivity trading systems and FIX-based platforms.

You will contribute to a multi-year initiative to modernize existing connectivity platforms, collaborating with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders across the globe. This role involves solving challenging architectural problems, enhancing system performance, delivering client-driven functionality, and ensuring compliance with market regulations, while helping the team embrace a DevOps ethos with continuous integration and continuous delivery.

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Kraków or Wrocław, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Spend 80-90% of your time performing direct development-related activities such as coding, design, configuration management, releases, and post-implementation support
• Contribute to architectural decisions as part of a global team solving complex technical problems
• Modernize existing client connectivity trading platforms, including A4, A4FIX, FIXAJ, and BlueDirect
• Deliver technical projects to enhance system performance and throughput
• Work on client-driven projects to add new functionality and ensure compliance with market regulations
• Drive the team's transformation toward a DevOps ecosystem with CI/CD practices
• Collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders across multiple regions
• Provide post-implementation support and ensure system reliability

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with C++, including multi-threading, STL, and templates
• Proficiency in data structures, casting, pointers, socket programming, and algorithms
• Development experience in a financial environment working on order management systems, FIX protocol, and order-state handling
• Background in programming within Linux/Unix environments
• Expertise in building high-performance, high-availability, low-latency, transaction-oriented distributed systems with high throughput and capacity
• Knowledge of the equity trading environment, ideally across a multi-regional capacity
• Excellent communication skills and the capability to explain highly complex functional and non-functional topics to IT and business stakeholders
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Prior experience working on a client connectivity system
• Familiarity with Java, including Core Java, Collections, and Reflection
• Capability to handle Level 3 (DEV) support in a pressurized production environment
