We are looking for a hands-on R&D Test Engineer with strong practical mechanical skills to work directly with our experimental and pilot-scale systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving our pilot setup, ensuring reliable test execution and high-quality data collection.
This is a practical, equipment-focused role requiring strong hands-on mechanical competence and demonstrated experience working directly with industrial or experimental equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, operate and maintain experimental and pilot-scale process equipment.
- Prepare, execute, and monitor test runs, manage data collection and documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of process equipment including continues improvement of installation.
- Track and manage spare parts, components, and equipment condition.
- Ensure proper cleaning and readiness of systems between test campaigns.
- Manage installation and improvement of equipment (mechanical, piping, connections, etc.)
- Monitor and handle process components such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, thermocouples, and pressure sensors.
- Work with fluid systems (liquid/gas), including piping and connection elements.
- Assist in diagnosing operational issues and improving system performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and process teams during testing and development.
- Ensure safety compliance.
- Close collaboration with different internal and external stakeholders (e.g. R&D, engineering, suppliers and partners).
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical education or experience (MSc or BSc with additional vocational training, or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, automation, manufacturing, or a closely related technical field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a test/pilot production environment.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following process areas is of merit: Chemical processes, Radio systems, Mechanical design and manufacturing, high or low voltage systems, PLC programming.
- Excellent English skills (both written and oral). Proficiency in Swedish language is a plus.
- Highly hands-on and practical mindset, comfortable working directly with process equipment.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Able to work independently while maintaining good communication with the team.
- Strong problem-solving skills in operational and experimental environments.
- Detail-oriented, with a structured approach to work.
- Comfortable following procedures, safety rules, and operational standards.
- Willing and able to document work accurately, including test results and equipment status.
- Organized and disciplined in maintaining equipment, workspace, and records.
