We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Milagro and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of our site. This is a key leadership role, working closely with colleagues across Operations, Transport, Engineering, HR, Finance, Customer Service and QHSSE to deliver safe, efficient and customer-focused operations.
What you’ll be doing
As an Deputy Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead and oversee the site's operational teams, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality warehouse operations.
- Take ownership of operational performance, ensuring customer requirements, production targets and KPIs are consistently achieved.
- Champion a strong health, safety, quality and compliance culture, ensuring relevant standards, policies and procedures are followed.
- Lead audit readiness and support internal, external, customer and regulatory audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
- Build strong relationships with customers, internal teams and external partners, understanding their requirements and ensuring these are delivered.
- Support new customer onboarding and help identify opportunities to improve service and grow the business.
- Manage labour planning and productivity, balancing permanent employees, agency resource and overtime to meet operational and budget requirements.
- Monitor operational costs, including equipment, repairs, damages and customer charges, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Lead, develop and engage the operational team through clear objectives, regular performance conversations, coaching and development.
- Support recruitment, performance management, absence management and other people-related processes.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity and cost efficiency.
- Work collaboratively across the wider Lineage network to ensure clear communication and effective coordination between sites and functions.
- Take an active role in site meetings, engagement initiatives, improvement projects and customer-related activities.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a confident and people-focused operational leader who can balance customer service, safety, people, performance and commercial priorities.
You will ideally have:
- Several years' experience in an operational or supervisory leadership role, ideally within logistics, warehousing, cold chain or a similar environment.
- Experience leading and coordinating operational teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A customer-focused and commercially aware approach.
- The ability to analyse operational data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and use your initiative.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- The flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a changing, growth-oriented environment.
- A qualification or academic background in Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline would be valuable.
