About Us
QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.
With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!
We are seeking a Senior Systems Architect to lead the system-level design frameworks and tooling that enable our Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) technology to be deployed across global Quantum Computing and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures. In this role, you will own the development of parameterized Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, full-stack quantum computer blueprints, and standard component libraries. Acting as a key technical lead, you will work closely with system integrators, QPU roadmap teams, and supply chain partners to ensure optimised, deployment ready quantum system designs.
What you’ll be doing
- System Blueprinting & Co-Design: Architect parameterized full-stack quantum computer blueprints (covering QPU requirements, thermal budgets, RF signal paths, cryogenic systems, HPC integration, etc.). Work with partners to co-design systems around our QPUs.
- MBSE Tool Development: Own the development and implementation of our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool, defining system modeling structure, logic, trade-offs. Collaborate closely with our Software Development teams on implementation.
- Component Libraries: Build, curate, and maintain standardized component libraries aligning with system models. Identify supply chain trade-offs, interface requirements, risks, etc. Collaborate closely with supply chain management to ensure supply chain readiness.
- HPC-Quantum Interfacing: Define and architect hardware-software control interfaces bridging classical HPC job schedulers (e.g., SLURM, Qaptiva) with the QPU calibration and control layer.
- Ecosystem Alignment: Identify interface, cost, and timeline mismatches between our QPUs and required third-party system components, partnering with Ecosystem Managers to resolve gaps and ensure seamless integration for partner SIs.
Your Profile
- Education: Master’s or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in complex systems engineering, system modeling, or multi-disciplinary hardware architecture.
- System Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated experience with establishing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies in novel systems (SysML, Python-based digital twin frameworks, or custom MBSE tools).
- Hardware Domain Expertise: Demonstrated experience with complex, high-CAPEX, multi-disciplinary systems involving chip-based architectures, Radio Frequency signal chains, temperature gradients, for example in Aerospace, Defense, HPC, or Semiconductor Equipment context.
- Collaboration: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable taking ownership from day one.
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We know great candidates don't always follow a straight path, and we value diverse experience, perspectives, and ways of thinking. If this role excites you and you believe you can make an impact, we'd love to hear from you!
What We Offer:
