Amentum is seeking a Club and Activities Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Club and Activities Manager will be responsible for
coordinating the daily operations of MWR club facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patrons. This position provides leadership, and oversight of bar
operations, customer service, recreational activities, and staff performance while ensuring compliance with applicable installation policies, food and beverage regulations, and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of MWR club facilities.
- Supervise and support bartenders and club staff to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all installation policies, alcohol service regulations, and food safety requirements.
- Verify patrons meet legal and installation requirements for the purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and enforce responsible beverage service practices to prevent over intoxication.
- Handle intoxicated patrons in accordance with installation guidelines and applicable policies.
- Operate point of sale systems, process transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Balance and reconcile cash drawers and prepare end of shift reports.
- Maintain inventory of alcoholic beverages, bar supplies, and other operational materials.
- Order supplies and ensure adequate inventory is available for daily operations and special events.
- Open, operate, and close bar and club facilities following established procedures.
- Clean and maintain bar equipment, glassware, utensils, workstations, and service
areas in accordance with sanitation standards.
- Organize and stock liquor, beverages, and supplies according to established standards.
- Ensure compliance with Army preventive medicine, sanitation, health, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate club activities, recreational events, and social functions as assigned.
- Provide basic exercise guidance, fitness instruction, and group exercise classes when required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating recreation activities, club operations, hospitality services, or organized events.
- Experience working in MWR program or military environment is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign
Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain
compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Other Responsibilities:

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to
high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
