The Client
Datacenter People is partnering with a leading European integrated power solutions manufacturer, a brand independent supplier of power systems for mission critical sectors including data center.
What The Job Involves
- Commissioning energy solutions based on design documentation and manuals, and performing safety checks to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Performing detailed tests on battery energy storage systems, including installation and connectivity via various communication protocols with the Energy Management System (EMS).
- Measuring battery performance and verifying synchronisation with other energy sources such as solar PV installations and generators.
- Conducting technical and functional tests to confirm correct system response to fluctuating energy demand or power outages.
- Reading, checking, and modifying PLC and SCADA systems to ensure faultless operation.
- Maintaining regular contact with project managers and technical teams to ensure timely and planned project delivery.
- Acting as the company’s on-site representative, providing clear explanations and maintaining effective communication with customers.
- Performing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure systems meet all requirements both in the factory and on-site.
- Preparing clear and structured reports after commissioning to document all results.
- Providing customers with instructions on system operation and maintenance to ensure long-term, trouble-free performance.
We Are Looking For Someone With
- Completed vocational education at MBO level 4 or higher, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems and a solid understanding of how these installations are safely tested and maintained.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, brands such as Schneider or ComAp, and communication protocols such as Modbus and CAN bus, enabling accurate management of complex energy systems.
- Ability to work with, or basic knowledge of, data acquisition and monitoring software, power analysers, and data loggers to measure and continuously monitor voltage, current, resistance, and system parameters.
- A structured approach to technical problem-solving, following established procedures for analysis and resolution.
- Experience working within a project-based environment and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, from customers to technical teams.
