We are currently looking for an HR Operations Team Leader who will be responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery of payroll processes. An important part of the role will also involve improving processes, increasing operational efficiency and identifying opportunities for automation.
Responsibilities
- Managing an HR Operations team providing HR outsourcing services in line with the agreed scope of services and applicable SLAs.
- Supervising the accurate and timely execution of payroll processes, including salary calculations, deductions and tax obligations.
- Reviewing and approving payroll results to ensure accuracy and quality before finalization.
- Ensuring that all processes comply with applicable legal, tax and social security regulations.
- Setting team objectives, monitoring KPIs and supporting employees in achieving their individual development goals.
- Conducting regular team meetings, 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
- Supporting team members in developing their skills and building an engaged and high-performing team.
- Analyzing payroll data to identify irregularities, investigate discrepancies and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
- Identifying areas for optimization and implementing process improvements and automation solutions.
- Cooperating with internal and external auditors during payroll audits.
- Coordinating cooperation with vendors and external business partners.
- Acting as an escalation point in situations requiring further intervention.
- Organizing and supporting testing activities related to changes in systems and processes.
- Cooperating with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure an appropriate level of service quality and customer satisfaction. Requirements
- Experience in people management, including coaching, employee development and performance management.
- Good command of German and very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience working in a service-oriented environment with a strong focus on quality and customer service.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex payroll-related matters, their potential impact and associated risks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
- Ability to actively listen, demonstrate empathy towards employees and manage teams in a constructive manner.
- High resilience, flexibility and assertiveness, particularly in situations requiring quick decision-making and handling escalations.
- Openness to new technologies, automation and data-driven decision-making.
- A responsible approach to leadership and the ability to act as a role model for the team.
- A strong team-oriented mindset and a commitment to achieving shared goals.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn and commitment to developing both your own skills and those of your team.
- Knowledge of or practical experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies will be considered an advantage. Benefits
