About the Role
As Mechanical Engineer SystemFlex, you will develop and maintain design solutions that enhance the performance, robustness, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of our conveyor and transport systems. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Innovation, Product Management, Supply Chain, Sales Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service. Acting as a technical focal point within multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure products meet customer requirements while maintaining high standards for hygiene, reliability, safety, maintainability, and manufacturing efficiency.
In addition, you will contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the evolution of our configurable product platforms and digital engineering capabilities.
You will become part of the SystemFlex team, responsible for configurable conveyor and transport systems used throughout the poultry processing industry. Working in a highly digitalized and model-based engineering environment, you will support New Product Development (NPD), product sustainment, maintenance activities, and customer order execution. Through Configure-To-Order (CTO) methodologies and standardized product platforms, you will help deliver customer-specific solutions while maximizing reusability and engineering efficiency.

What You’ll Do
- Support lifecycle management activities for assigned systems and product families and actively contribute to extending product life cycles.
- Develop customer-specific solutions based on standard products and modular building blocks.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and communicate design changes and documentation updates effectively.
- Ensure accurate technical documentation to enable efficient, cost-effective, and error-free manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with the latest machine safety requirements and relevant international standards.
- Configure, design, and develop mechanical aspects of customer solutions using 3D CAD and PDM systems in accordance with the Product Development Process (PDP).
- Create and maintain bills of materials, assemblies, components, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Focus on functionality, hygiene and cleanability, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Deliver engineering specifications on time to support customer projects and project execution.
- Develop, maintain, and improve SystemFlex conveyor and transport standards across the poultry portfolio.
- Configure customer-specific conveyor solutions using Configure-To-Order (CTO) principles while maximizing standardization.
- Maintain and improve engineering rules, models, and standards supporting automated configuration processes.
- Translate functional customer requirements into configurable technical solutions within a model-based engineering environment.
- Support and continuously improve digital engineering tools, including CAD, PDM, configuration, and automation systems.
- Contribute to the development of modular product architectures and standardized engineering practices.
- Work closely with Sales Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, and Service teams to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze recurring customer requirements, order variations, and field feedback to identify opportunities for further standardization and automation.
- Safeguard consistency and integrity of the SystemFlex product platform throughout its complete lifecycle.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience engineering technical systems, preferably within machine building, food processing, or related industries.
- You are a creative and analytical engineer who enjoys turning ideas into practical industrial solutions without losing sight of business objectives. You are curious, positive, eager to learn, and continuously looking for opportunities to improve products and processes.
- You thrive in an environment where standardization, configurability, and automation play a crucial role. You understand how to balance customer-specific requirements with scalable engineering solutions and have a structured, systems-oriented mindset.
- Experience with engineering software and documentation tools such as Creo and Windchill.
- Experience with configurable products, conveyor systems, transport systems, or material handling equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Configure-To-Order (CTO), modular product architectures, product configuration, or model-based engineering is considered a strong advantage.
- Affinity with engineering automation, parameter-driven design, and digital engineering processes.
- Knowledge of PLM, PDM, CAD automation, and configuration management principles is considered beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail combined with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while valuing teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Experience within the poultry processing, food processing, or hygienic machinery industry.
- Familiarity with engineering automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Understanding of machine safety standards and international engineering regulations.
