Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) is looking for a part-time (60% FTE, three days per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) Science Technician to support the delivery of our science curriculum.
The school has seven Year Groups (Years 7-13) of over 310 students with 6 dedicated science laboratories and three preparation rooms.
Students study a combined science course in Years 7 and 8 before moving on to being taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics in Year 9 by subject specialists in preparation for GCSEs and beyond. Year 12 and 13 study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Technicians support the teaching staff in the delivery of the school's science curriculum.

The School
The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) is organised into four separate campuses. Key Responsibilities
Provide support through the preparation of class demonstrations and practical experiments by setting up and testing apparatus, materials and equipment;
Responsible for routine maintenance within the laboratory, keeping supplies replenished and the general upkeep of the rooms.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
Good standard of education, experience of working in a laboratory environment and an understanding of Health & Safety within this setting;
Excellent English, both written and spoken;
Knowledge of the Dutch language will be considered an advantage as will a science qualification and experience of working in a secondary school environment;
Ability to work well within a team of science technicians as well as independently without supervision;
Have a strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
The salary range for this position is 2894,49 - 3451,73 gross EUR monthly (full-time), depending on experience. All figures shown are including the 9% holiday allowance.
