As Educational Innovator, you will play a key role in redesigning our Bachelor's degree programmes, helping to create innovative courses, coherent learning pathways and meaningful assessment strategies. Working closely with academic and educational colleagues, you will turn educational vision into reality and make a lasting impact on the next generation of scientists.
As Educational Innovator, you will stimulate and support educational development across the Bachelor's programmes in Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences and Natural Sciences, and the broad Master's programme in Molecular Sciences. You will work at the programme level, where you will advise and support programme directors and teaching teams on curriculum development, teaching approaches, assessment and educational quality. In addition, you will reach out and provide hands-on support to individual lecturers and course coordinators facing educational questions and challenges.
Part of your work will involve the redesign and implementation of our Bachelor's curricula. Together with teaching and support staff and students, you will help translate the vision of the Educational Institute into coherent curricula, effective learning pathways and appropriate assessment strategies. You will be an essential discussion partner for lecturers, programme management and educational advisors and support staff at Radboud University. At the same time, you will proactively support colleagues to develop and implement educational approaches that fit our programmes, our students and the ambitions of the institute.
Depending on your experience and profile, you can help strengthen connections with other molecular science programmes in the Netherlands. If so desired, you can play an active role as a lecturer in the programmes yourself.

Does this sound like you?
- You have an academic background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in chemistry, molecular sciences or a related discipline, and have developed expertise in education through teaching, educational innovation, teacher education, educational research or a similar route.
- You have experience with educational development and are familiar with educational principles such as constructive alignment, curriculum design and assessment strategies.
- You are a strong and visible communicator, you can connect people, you listen carefully and you are able to balance different perspectives while working towards shared educational goals.
- You actively reach out to colleagues, helping them to align courses with the curriculum.
- You have an excellent command of English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage, as some interactions within the programmes take place in Dutch. What we offer you
- We will give you a temporary employment contract of one year with the prospect of an indefinite contract.
- Your salary within salary scale 10 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience. The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
- You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.
- You will receive extra days off. With full-time employment, you can choose between 30 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the statutory 20. Additional employment conditions

Where you will be working
The Education Institute for Molecular Sciences is responsible for the Bachelor's programmes in Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences and Natural Sciences, and the Master's programme in Molecular Sciences at Radboud University. Together, our Bachelor's programmes welcome around 150 new students each year, while approximately 70 students enrol in the Master's programme annually.
Our study programmes combine strong disciplinary foundations with research-driven education. Most lecturers are researchers at the Faculty of Science, many within the Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM), creating a close connection between scientific developments and education. We value small-scale education, close interaction between students and lecturers, and continuous improvement of our programmes.
The institute is led by an Education Director, four Programme Directors, a Senior Education Coordinator and student representatives. As Educational Innovator, you will collaborate closely with this team, as well as with programme committees, examination boards, lecturers and educational specialists at faculty and university levels. Together, these people contribute to the quality and continuous development of our molecular sciences education.
Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science (FNWI), part of Radboud University, engages in groundbreaking research and excellent education. In doing so, we push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and pass that knowledge on to the next generation.
We seek solutions to major societal challenges, such as cybercrime and climate change and work on major scientific challenges, such as those in the quantum world. At the same time, we prepare our students for careers both within and outside the scientific field.
