Windows Platform Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Redesign and improve Windows patch management processes using SCCM
- Design and implement infrastructure automation using PowerShell and CI/CD technologies
- Create and maintain Group Policies (GPOs) and Windows security baselines
- Act as a Windows OS specialist and provide expertise across the wider infrastructure landscape, including Active Directory, networking, storage, and virtualization
- Support the development and automated deployment of new Windows OS images
- Support migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments
- Work closely with the Platform Owner and Scrum team on the engineering backlog and continuous platform improvements
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and system administration support for Windows Server environments
- Develop technical documentation for engineers, architects, and end users
- Identify and implement improvements that increase platform automation, stability, security, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate within a SAFe / Scrum delivery model
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional experience in Windows Server administration and engineering
- Strong expertise in Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025, including Active Directory, Group Policy and core networking services such as DNS and DHCP
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Strong hands-on experience with SCCM, including patch and configuration management
- Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD processes, Git and Jira
- Good understanding of hybrid environments, including on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP
- Knowledge of infrastructure areas such as networking, storage, virtualization, backup, failover clustering and disaster recovery
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Very good English communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI-based automation or self-healing infrastructure concepts
- Microsoft certifications related to Windows Server
- Knowledge of Linux
- Programming or scripting experience in Python or other languages
